Exceptional Service

While staying at this hotel, we had car issues and the staff (Chad, Tawny and Barbara) made sure that we were able to locate someone in the area to help us in fixing our car, providing transportaion, and making us comfortable in our stay during this stressful time. We were delighted that the staff was so eager to help us and even though we had to shorten our trip by a few days we eagerally anticipate a return visit.

Best Harbor View in Destin !

From the moment we walked into the door to register, we could feel a sense of peacefulness and tranquality. Amber Mitchell greeted us with a beautiful smile, and was very happy to accommadate our every need. From needing a corkscrew for our bottle of wine, to supplying the glasses for us, she bend over backwards to make sure we were taken care of. She was extremely pleasent, and I must say the same for Chad as well. Anything we asked, was never a problem, they always had a solution. Our room overlooking the harbor is breathtaking! We got up at dawn, and watched the sunset every day. It's the best view in town and affordable. The room was very clean and the shower cap was a plus! They had done some upgrades to the rooms, since our last visit two years ago, they had replaced the carpet. Very nice. The breakfast bar and area is a plus too. A very nice selection of fruit, waffles, eggs, bagels, sweets, oatmeal, juices, coffee and milk. The employees are always so very pleasent and very helpful too. The only thing we encounterd was an internet problem. It would go on and off for some reason. But they have a computer which you can use downstairs in the lobby which I thought was nice. We were there for 3 days but the room never got vaccumed for some reason or other. But I was able to live with those things, because the good certainly out weighed the negative. I can't WAIT to return once again! My husband and I look forward to returning again hopefully soon.

Wonderful place with a wonderful staff

We can't say enough good things about the Inn. Have stayed alot of places where noise was a problem. Not here, if there is a problem let someone know and they will take care of it. We travel with a small yorkie and we love that they are pet friendly. The view is beautiful over looking the Harbor. Rooms are nice and breaksfast food is good and people who care if you are happy, what more could a person want. This place is a gem and wouldn't change anything.

A welcoming gem of a hotel

We arrived at the Inn on Destin Harbor, and were welcomed by the gorgeous view of the harbor as the sun was setting. The desk clerk was very personable and offered us complimentary wine from a tasting. We had decided to go to Destin for Thanksgiving and for being away from home during the holidays, we felt very welcomed by the staff and met other travellers while socializing in the lobby. We were on a limited budget but we saved money on meals because of the continental breakfast offered every morning, and we utilized the small refrigerator in the room. I reccomend Marina Cafe' next door for the Happy Hour special (the best sushi you've ever had, offered 1/2 price in the bar area). When we returned at night, the desk had fresh baked cookies for us. Our activities included reading and relaxing by the pool on the harbor, kayaking and shopping at the Commons, a nearby upscale outdoor shopping center where we also found great deals). Even in November the weather was extremely pleasant and its a short drive to take walks on the beach. When you awake at the Inn, the view is like being on a cruise ship in a new port- very serene. For all of the amenities (location, personable service, view) we thought the rates were very reasonable. The buffet at the Hilton for Thanksgiving dinner did not disappoint, and was also nicely priced ($35 per person). I highly recommend visiting during the off-season- prices are great, and its a different vibe than the hecticness of mid-summer. We came back to our jobs and life in New Orleans (only a 4-1/2 hr drive), like we had been away at the spa. We'll definately come back to the Inn. We made great memories that we look forward to repeating.

A hidden great value, view and location

My wife and I really enjoyed our three day stay at this hotel. You will not be able to find a more convenient location in Destin. It's on the Destin Harbor with a pool and small sand beach. I will visit again and bring my small Boston Whaler. The staff said I could pull it up on the beach.

Exceeded expectations with friendly professional staff

Beautiful views of harbour. Very comfortable lounge area with wine & champagne tastings. A small, private sandy beach. Dog friendly. The owner, Charlie, is a very customer focussed manager. You will see him on many occasions attending to guest needs. The staff are amazing. Charlie leads by example and the staff are truly attentive. It's like a happy family. You will be on a first name basis with everyone very quickly.After checking in, we received a phone call from the front desk. They asked if we'd be interested in going on a free boat tour of the harbour. Charlie, wearing his Captain's hat, took us on a lovely little cruise of the harbour. This really helped orient us to the location. Charlie pointed out points of historical interest, made restaurant and entertainment recommendations and made us feel truly welcome. It was like we had made a new friend. The value of this Inn is fantastic. We'd expect to pay much more for the quality of service and attention to our needs.

A Rare Gem

My husband & I drove over 1300 miles to Destin, Fl. & arrived the evening before our reservation date. We called the Inn on Destin Harbor along the way to see if we could book a night earlier and the kind and efficient receptionist made the arrangements. We planned on staying from 3/22-3/28 and then traveling from Destin along the Florida panhandle. Our experience in those 7 days at the Inn on Destin Harbor was outstanding from the initial phone reservation to the check-in/check-out process. The employees were kind, caring, informative and all had great attitudes. The continental breakfast, the view, the area restaurants, the peacefulness of the hotel, the Wed. wine tasting and Fri. champagne were all wonderful. I have traveled extensively throughout the US, Mexico, Canada & Europe but not once in all my travels have I ever met the owner of any hotel. Charlie immediately treated us not only like an old friend but we felt like family. He not only interacted with us and showed us the harbor on his boat & the local hot spots. We also watched him take a man and his 2 young sons out fishing on a Saturday morning, an experience those young boys will treasure probably for the rest of their lives. This is something I have yet to see anywhere in the world. The Inn on Destin Harbor and all it offered was so amazing and we couldn't leave as we were having such a great time. My husband & I decided we couldn't go anywhere and have better accommodations or a better time so we continued our two week vacation stay at the Inn on Destin Harbor until we made our 1300 mile trek back home. It was the best vacation ever and can't wait to return!!

What a great place to stay!

We loved it! The hotel and rooms were very clean. The view is fantastic. There were plenty of restaurants, beaches and water activities nearby. The staff was very courteous and friendly. The hotel was reasonably priced compared to other hotels in the area. They had a gas grill that we could cook on, a clean pool and a little beach that we could sit on and enjoy the harbor view. The owner was there every day and made a sincere effort to do whatever he could to make our stay an enjoyable one. We will definitely return.
